Get answers to common questions about Lips.
No—waxing does not make hair grow back thicker or darker. Hair may appear blunter as it regrows from the root, but regular waxing often softens and can reduce visible density over time. Proper aftercare minimizes irritation and ingrown hairs.
Results generally last two to four weeks depending on individual hair growth, hormones, and care. With consistent waxing, intervals become more predictable and hair may thin. Avoid exfoliating or sun exposure immediately after to prolong smoothness.
Some sensitivity is normal, but the procedure is quick. We use room temperature wax, precise technique, and pressure to minimize pain. Taking acetaminophen beforehand, avoiding caffeine, and breathing steadily can also reduce discomfort for nervous clients.
Yes—many clients with sensitive skin can be waxed safely. We perform a brief skin assessment and may do a patch test, use gentle waxes, and recommend aftercare. If active acne or open lesions are present, we’ll reschedule to avoid irritation or infection.
Ensure hair is about a quarter-inch long, exfoliate gently forty-eight hours before, and avoid retinoids or harsh treatments for a week. Arrive with clean skin—no makeup or heavy products. Hydrated skin responds better, so drink water beforehand.
Avoid touching, hot showers, saunas, heavy sweating, and sun exposure for twenty-four to forty-eight hours. Apply the recommended soothing gel or aloe, keep the area clean, and exfoliate gently after seventy-two hours to prevent ingrown hairs. Use SPF when in sun.
